In 2022, K Laser Technology CFBU opened their doors to the Design Lab, located in Sarasota, Florida. The Design Lab serves as a service unit and collaboration center for creatives, designers, printers, and converters to provide a better understanding of how to apply laser materials onto paper, paperboard, and labels, and to foster experimentation to create new visual effects through the same mediums.

The services offered are to the benefit of all printer and prepress departments, including assistance with file set-up, mock-up services, an in-house press available for research and development, testing, and educating for both flexo and digital printing (by way of the CFBU retrofitted digital print head, embellX), as well as the capability to host virtual and live demonstrations.
